Ep. 62 – “Bumping Merkins”

Broad Street Breakdown has a studio audience full of family for episode 62 and things get a little crazy. The Professor pops EVERYONE in this one. The crew recaps their weekend at This Is hardcore and the Talent talks about his family vacation “down da shore.” Also, we find out the name of the zebra from the old Fruit Stripe gum. The OG and the Professor recap the recent Done Deal show in Brooklyn. In Biz talk, The OG rails against the apparent elitism he sees among the marks and tells you what’s what. As always, the squad brings it with the usual gimmicks, including a new twist on the word association game. Vinnie’s got some thoughts from some fuckin’ maniacs in this installment of “Dear Vin.” There’s a Cheapo Tip about male grooming, we read and answer letters from the Gimmick Gang and wrap it up with some nice recommendations for youse. It’s the Broad Street Breakdown: Your whole aura is Plexiglas…

Ep. 61 – “What’s Scary Now, Motherfucker?”

It’s a Jackie Brown kind of night! Jackie Brown sits in with the guys for this episode as she and the OG tell the story of the recent marriage proposal. It’s a tale to warm the heart. Everyone is very excited for the upcoming This Is Hardcore extravaganza and the Professor is excited about his trip “down da shore.” In true Pablo fashion, he pits a call out for free drinks while he vacations and a discussion of the Jersey shore ensues. The Sicko “ughhhh” counter is still working, pretzels and Slurpees abound, and the fidget spinners are spinning. Vinnie and the OG discuss, in depth, the upcoming McGregor vs. Mayweather debacle with their particular brand of insight. As usual, the BSB gimmicks are highlighted; word association, “Dear Vin,” and The Professor has something of a tip concerning leftover pretzels. There is mail to be read and, as always, we send youse home with some recommendations. It’s The Broad Street Breakdown: Fuck those unknown motherfuckers, without a ten foot pole they can’t touch us…

Ep. 60 – “You Got Heat with Beeker?”

From a Muppets discussion to the finer points of Slurpee mixing, the BSB has you covered when it comes to flavor. Since the Sicko hates everything, the OG starts a counter; every time The Sicko utters his trademark, disapproving “ugh” The OG marks it on the counter. Can you guess how many times? Hint: it’s a lot. The OG tells a Man of the People tale about etiquette and ice cream. A conversation is sparked about the recent “revenge porn” situation involving Rob Kardashian, and the BSB crew gives their take on the fervent worship of celebrity culture and the apparent lack of morality in said culture. In Biz talk, the OG looks forward to the recent pay-per-view and he and Vinnie discuss Fandango, Tyler Breeze, Samoa Joe and Brock, among other things. As always, the usual gimmicks make their appearance, The Sicko takes back word association, The Talent has a tip that’s not a tip, the usual “Dear Vin” troglodytes represent, The Professor reads letters from the mailbag, and the episode winds up, as always, with some proper recommendations from the crew. It’s The Broad Street Breakdown: “Don’t you watch my size, I’m dangerous…”

Ep. 59 – “One Simple Thread Can Get You Dead”

The crew is down to a trio this week as the Sicko is absent from this episode and nearly taps from illness. Right off the bat, The Professor’s comments lead to a game of “F, Marry, Kill,” with members of the Gimmick Gang being the subjects. It’s as disturbing as it sounds. Vinnie offers up a touching eulogy for Prodigy.  After that, a discussion of Bill Cosby trial begins. Does wealth trump the system? The crew examines the entitlement of ego and the hubris of a very disturbed man, and the bizarre worship of celebrity so prevalent in our culture. Vinnie and OG then discuss the Russo vs. Cornette battle. In absence of the Sicko, Vinnie takes over the word association gimmick. “Dear Vin” brings its usual incoherent madness, The Professor tells you how to get over on the cable companies, we dip into the BSB Mailbag, and, as always, we send youse home with some recommendations. It’s the Broad Street Breakdown: “There must be some misunderstanding…”

Ep. 58 – “I Like 58 Better, Only ‘Cause it Seems Like More”

The Professor educates us on “Real Estate Porn” and discusses clipper care and grundle cheese. The Sicko cuts his arm for King Diamond. That’s just the beginning. Vinnie recalls an old George Carlin bit about “politically correct language” and the clip sparks a conversation about modern-day political correctness and its ensuing language restrictions, social media’s role in communication, and includes a discussion of Vince Russo and female wrestlers. Hint: The OG cuts a promo on Russo. Afterwards, the usual gimmicks make an appearance: word association yields a classic Nicolas Cage story from Vinnie, “Dear Vin” brings out some more thoughts from some fucking maniacs, Pablo Cheapo extols the virtues of credit card bonus points, we answer letters from the Gimmick Gang in the BSB Mailbag, and, as always, we send youse home with some serious recommendations. It’s the Broad Street Breakdown: “Before you get up and tell me that I’m wrong, why don’t you shut up and listen to the fucking song…”
