Ep. 62 – “Bumping Merkins”

Broad Street Breakdown has a studio audience full of family for episode 62 and things get a little crazy. The Professor pops EVERYONE in this one. The crew recaps their weekend at This Is hardcore and the Talent talks about his family vacation “down da shore.” Also, we find out the name of the zebra from the old Fruit Stripe gum. The OG and the Professor recap the recent Done Deal show in Brooklyn. In Biz talk, The OG rails against the apparent elitism he sees among the marks and tells you what’s what. As always, the squad brings it with the usual gimmicks, including a new twist on the word association game. Vinnie’s got some thoughts from some fuckin’ maniacs in this installment of “Dear Vin.” There’s a Cheapo Tip about male grooming, we read and answer letters from the Gimmick Gang and wrap it up with some nice recommendations for youse. It’s the Broad Street Breakdown: Your whole aura is Plexiglas…

Ep. 61 – “What’s Scary Now, Motherfucker?”

It’s a Jackie Brown kind of night! Jackie Brown sits in with the guys for this episode as she and the OG tell the story of the recent marriage proposal. It’s a tale to warm the heart. Everyone is very excited for the upcoming This Is Hardcore extravaganza and the Professor is excited about his trip “down da shore.” In true Pablo fashion, he pits a call out for free drinks while he vacations and a discussion of the Jersey shore ensues. The Sicko “ughhhh” counter is still working, pretzels and Slurpees abound, and the fidget spinners are spinning. Vinnie and the OG discuss, in depth, the upcoming McGregor vs. Mayweather debacle with their particular brand of insight. As usual, the BSB gimmicks are highlighted; word association, “Dear Vin,” and The Professor has something of a tip concerning leftover pretzels. There is mail to be read and, as always, we send youse home with some recommendations. It’s The Broad Street Breakdown: Fuck those unknown motherfuckers, without a ten foot pole they can’t touch us…

Ep. 58 – “I Like 58 Better, Only ‘Cause it Seems Like More”

The Professor educates us on “Real Estate Porn” and discusses clipper care and grundle cheese. The Sicko cuts his arm for King Diamond. That’s just the beginning. Vinnie recalls an old George Carlin bit about “politically correct language” and the clip sparks a conversation about modern-day political correctness and its ensuing language restrictions, social media’s role in communication, and includes a discussion of Vince Russo and female wrestlers. Hint: The OG cuts a promo on Russo. Afterwards, the usual gimmicks make an appearance: word association yields a classic Nicolas Cage story from Vinnie, “Dear Vin” brings out some more thoughts from some fucking maniacs, Pablo Cheapo extols the virtues of credit card bonus points, we answer letters from the Gimmick Gang in the BSB Mailbag, and, as always, we send youse home with some serious recommendations. It’s the Broad Street Breakdown: “Before you get up and tell me that I’m wrong, why don’t you shut up and listen to the fucking song…”

Ep. 55 – “If You Like Megadeth You Can’t Listen to This Podcast”

It’s the OG’s birthday! BSB is back, and episode 55 kicks off with a tribute to the OG on his birthday with song and treats. After that, it’s right into the Biz as the boys discuss their most recent venture to House of Hardcore in Philly. A night at the 2300 Arena is punctuated with a coveted interview with Philadelphia’s biggest wrestling mark: The Wooch. Vinnie and the OG analyze, in depth, an off-the-cuff interview the Professor gets with a fixture of Philly’s wrestling scene. He’s the guy you see front row at every Philly-area wrestling event and the crew has affectionately dubbed him “The Wooch.” After that, The Broad Street Breakdown tries something new. A recent obsession with the channel Mtv Classic leads to a viewing party, and youse are invited along as the crew watches and comments on ‘80s metal videos from the glory days of “Headbangers Ball.” As usual, all the regular gimmicks shine: a couch-bound round of the Word Association game, The Professor gives Cheapo advice to a Gimmick Ganger seeking help in the ways of the Chep, Vinnie walks you down that dark path of “Dear Vin,” Cody Mac makes another guest appearance, and the BSB wraps it up with some prime recommendations for youse. It’s the Broad Street Breakdown: Our attitude’s all fucked up and real shitty…

Ep. 46 – “Geoff Cougar Gavincamp”

It’s a brand new year and that means it’s time for a brand new Broad Street Breakdown.  The crew reconvenes after a holiday absence and there is no shortage of material for conversation. Stories abound as Vinnie, The OG, The Professor, and The Sicko recount tales from their time off, discussing everything from first boners to getting banned from restaurants. An immediate “Who’s Worse” gets thrown into the mix. And, as usual, when the BSB is away, people die. The crew reflects on the continuing curse of 2016 as they discuss Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, as well as George Michael’s departure. One recent loss really hits home, and the boys render a nice tribute to a recently fallen friend: the inimitable Dave Vision. A special surprise is waiting for the squad as they receive personalized gifts from an original Gimmick Ganger: Dynamite Kid. In Biz talk, Vinnie and the OG discuss Hall of Fame nominations and inductees and, among other stuff, Rhonda Rousey. The regular gimmicks are back for youse: word association, The Professor has another Cheapo Tip, the bloodbath that is “Dear Vin,” the mailbag and, of course, new recommendations for a new year. It’s the Broad Street Breakdown: We always hit first and call it self-defense…
